SECURITY

We recognize that there is a lot of trust that goes into investing your hard-earned savings with someone. That’s why we take security very seriously.

Deposit & Bankruptcy Protection

Your investments are protected by the same coverage as Canada’s major banks and other financial institutions. Our custodian, Fidelity Clearing Canada ULC (FCC), is a member firm of the Canadian Investor Protection Fund (CIPF). The CIPF insures investment accounts up to $1M against insolvency of the member firm, subject to specific terms. Details regarding CIPF coverage can be found on their website here. You can verify Fidelity Clearing Canada ULC’s status as a CIPF member firm here.

Our Custodian

As part of our security processes, Inner Circle does not handle your funds directly; this means that our advisors do not have direct access to the funds in your accounts for security reasons. Our investment provider, Harness Investment Management, uses Fidelity Clearing Canada ULC (FCC) - a very large and reputable financial institution - as the custodian to safeguard our clients’ funds. FCC is a member of the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) which oversees and regulates investment dealers and trading activity in Canada. IIROC’s mandate is to protect investors & market integrity, and build Canadians’ trust in financial regulation and the people managing their investments. As a member of IIROC, FCC is required to follow specific rules & regulations for business conduct, financial operations and trading practices. You can verify Fidelity Clearing Canada ULC’s status as an IIROC regulated firm here.

Well Trusted

Our clients are in great company with our well-trusted investment partner. Harness Investment Management is a subsidiary of Purpose Investments (est. 2012) who together manage over $15 billion in assets for clients across Canada (as of April 2023).

Safeguarding Client Information

At Inner Circle, we make every attempt to safeguard our clients’ confidential information including encrypting client data, shredding confidential documents, maintaining & updating security policies and procedures, and the use of 2-factor authentication (2FA) where possible.
